Embrace Foster Care Annual Picnic

Miss University of Louisville visited Maryhurst to share in the fun and inspire youth in our foster care.

Maryhurst Embrace Foster Care celebrates our Foster Families annually with a Foster Care Appreciation Picnic.  On Saturday, May 19th, we hosted our 2018 picnic on the grounds of Maryhurst’s Dorsey Lane campus.

We were thrilled to welcome 50+ youth, families and Maryhurst staff for the event. Taylor Marchelle Young, Miss University of Louisville, accepted our invitation to the picnic, where she took pictures and interacted with the children we serve.  We’d like to thank Taylor, who was also a Princess on the Derby Court last year, for coming out.

Pictures from the event are below.

There has never been a greater need for foster families in the state of Kentucky, with all-time high numbers of children in out-of-home care. If you’d like to learn more about becoming a foster parent, please email fostercare@maryhurst.org or attend one of our upcoming info sessions.
