Maryhurst Sponsors Children's Advocacy Week at the Capitol

Now in its 20th year, Children's Advocacy Day/Week is an event created and hosted by Kentucky Youth Advocates, who describes it as:

The annual event sponsored by Kentucky Youth Advocates and the Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children encourages a critical mass of advocates to gather in the state Capitol building. It has led to many policy wins and raising awareness of issues facing kids and their families. It started as an advocacy day at the Capitol and is now Children’s Advocacy WEEK which provides a series of virtual events with more opportunities to connect with legislators and other advocates.

Maryhurst was proud to sponsor the activities of Children's Advocacy Week in January 2024, which included the rally at the Capitol building. The Children's Advocacy Day Rally features the voices of young people and elected leaders who are paying special attention to the needs of children as the legislative session unfolds.

In addition to meeting with legislators, staff from Maryhurst had the chance to join with our peers and raise our voices on issues that matter!
